CME E-mini Factor Futures Launch September 21: Growth, Value, Quality, Momentum, and Dividend

CME E-mini Factor Futures guide showing growth, value, quality, momentum, and dividend index categories.

TLDR: CME Group plans to list six E-mini Equity Factor futures on September 21, 2026, pending regulatory review. They track S&P 500 Growth, Value, Quality, Momentum, and Low Volatility indexes plus the Dow Jones U.S. Dividend 100 Index. CME's published futures codes are SPGR, SPV, SPQ, SPMO, SPLV, and DJD. These are not six renamed ES contracts; each follows a selected slice or characteristic of U.S. equities.

The immediate trading question is not which factor will win. It is what each index owns, how its futures contract is priced, and whether the contract is actually listed and liquid at your broker. If a supported contract becomes orderable inside TradingView, UMT Automator may be evaluated for eligible strategy workflows, but a CME product announcement alone does not establish UMT or broker compatibility.

Which factor-futures tickers are planned?

  • SPGR: E-mini S&P 500 Growth.
  • SPV: E-mini S&P 500 Value.
  • SPQ: E-mini S&P 500 Quality.
  • SPMO: E-mini S&P 500 Momentum.
  • SPLV: E-mini S&P 500 Low Volatility.
  • DJD: E-mini Dow Jones U.S. Dividend 100.

The futures ticker is not the underlying cash-index ticker. For example, CME identifies SGX as the Growth index ticker and SPGR as its futures code. Confirm the exact exchange and broker symbol before placing an order; similar letter combinations can refer to unrelated products.

How are these different from ES?

ES follows the broad S&P 500 benchmark. A factor index selects or weights stocks according to a rule such as growth characteristics, valuation, quality metrics, momentum, or lower realized volatility. DJD references a dividend-focused Dow Jones index. These contracts may react differently from ES to rate changes, sector leadership, and earnings. The composition can change, so use the index provider's methodology and current constituent data rather than assuming the factor name tells the whole story.

What to verify before trading a new futures market

  1. Confirm CME's final listing and regulatory status after September 21.
  2. Read each contract's multiplier, minimum tick, quarterly month, settlement, and margin specification.
  3. Check live spread, depth, and daily volume. A newly listed contract can have thin liquidity even when the underlying index is well known.
  4. Confirm that the connected broker offers the exact product and account permissions.
  5. Paper-test entries, exits, order type, and symbol mapping before automation. Do not infer support from a chart quote.

UMT's free trial can help test a qualifying TradingView-to-broker workflow once broker access is verified. It is not a substitute for contract research or liquidity checks.

FAQ

When do CME's new factor futures launch?

CME targets September 21, 2026, pending regulatory review. Recheck official notices for confirmation.

Is SPGR the same as ES?

No. SPGR is the planned S&P 500 Growth futures code; ES follows the broad S&P 500.

Can I automate these contracts with UMT on launch day?

Do not assume so. Verify the listed contract, TradingView broker routing, permissions, and paper order behavior first.

Risk disclaimer: New futures may have limited depth, changing margin, and substantial leverage. This is educational, not a recommendation to trade.
